Allow unknown sources

On Android 8+: when you open the APK, tap Settings in the prompt and enable Allow from this source for your browser or file manager.

FAQ

Common questions

Yes. The APK is signed with a release key and is served directly from our secure storage. It requests only the permissions it needs: internet access and the ability to post a media notification in your notification drawer. No microphone, no contacts, no location.
No. The app works fully in guest mode — search, stream, create playlists, and use the equalizer without signing up. A Benzai account is only needed if you want your library synced across multiple devices or backed up to the cloud.
Android 7.0 (Nougat) or higher. This covers the vast majority of devices released since 2016. Benzai targets Android 15 so it looks great on the latest phones too.
Benzai checks for updates automatically on each launch and shows an in-app banner when one is available. You can also download the latest APK from this page at any time. Install over the existing app — your playlists and settings are preserved.
Benzai is completely free with no ads, no premium tier, and no in-app purchases. It's an independent project built for the love of music. If you want to support continued development, share it with a friend.
